LUMA LODGEMagic Bay breaks on the north side of a deep cove — a slow, mechanical right-hander that runs for 400 to 600 metres on the right swell. It is the longest point break in Africa and one of the longest in the world.
We keep a small rental shed at the foot of the lodge — fibreglass boards from 6′0 to 9′2, a handful of foamies for first days, wetsuits from 2mm (summer) up to 4/3 (January). Rentals are included on three-night stays or more.
Our surf guide, Ilyas, has been surfing this wave since he was nine. Lessons are small — four people to a group — and honest: he'll tell you when it's a day to sit and watch.
